Kuřívody

When looking for Ralsko, you will arrive in Kuřívody. The town’s centre gives you a good idea of what went on in the last century. There is no square in the true sense of the word, buth rather a huge asphalt area – it’s easy to imagine tanks and transporters riding along it… The town found itself in the centre of the military training area and was completely devastated by Soviet soldiers.

But the original Renaissance fortress is still in place, which is being repaired and is not open to the public. The church whose origins date back to the Gothic times is also closed, but you can visit the historic building of the former rectory, where there is now a tourist information center.
